Sales Manager, Industrial Applications - Benelux (Home based, Netherlands)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading commercial negotiations with existing and potential customers via face-to-face presence in the Netherlands and Belgium
  • Achieving sustainable growth by proactive acquisition and management of customer projects with surface active additives in a variety of industrial markets such as Masterbatch & Compounding or Composites, in line with global growth strategy
  • Building continually knowledge around the target industries and developing solid business relationships with key decision makers
  • Monitoring and reporting about the latest market trends, developments, and competitors’ activities
  • Supporting the strategic development process
  • Introducing and presenting new products to customers
  • Recognizing and managing customer problems and needs
  • Performing sales calls to existing and potential customers on a regular basis to facilitate growth in regional sales and profitability
  • Negotiating pricing and supply/confidentiality agreements to support business growth
  • Monitoring account financial status to ensure liquidity and A/R in line
  • Accumulating competitive and market data to guide future growth
  • Providing valuable input into developing 3 year sales plan
  • Maintaining project pipeline with sales, profitability and probability of success to develop funnel of future business
  • Carrying out pre-call planning for customer visits, submitting detailed visit reports, and planning follow-up actions
  • Continually building knowledge around the performance and value of our products and services to provide more innovative and cost effective solutions to our customer base
  • Coordinating technical resources for customer visits and managing resources and timelines for customer projects
  • Managing other miscellaneous customer issues including complaints, regulatory requests, audits, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You have an extensive chemical background, preferably in surface active ingredients or process additives or silicone chemistry
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience of specialty chemical sales into related industries with strong customer focus at all hierarchical levels
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and language skills, flexibility and team spirit
  • Fluent/near native language skills in English, Dutch and German is required.
  • High level of computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, CRM)
  • High degree of self-motivation and self-organisation
  • Enjoy regular travel (~ 60% abroad) in the Benelux region, optional visiting customers in Germany at a later time

Job Description

•Analyse the request by the customer (RFQ) or public bid and develop the technical and economic proposal for turnkey solution of battery Energy Storage System, Photovoltaic Power Plant, Microgrid and/or PCS, PMS, EMS supply.
•Prepare the sizing and technical configuration of the BESS, PV, Microgrid as best fit to RFQ or the bid.
•Provide Technical support to the Sales team in the negotiation with the customer.
•Liaise with Sales Headcount to define value proposition in the region.
•Interact with corporate engineering, R&D and purchasing department to evaluate cost, technology and to select partner and suppliers.
•Prepare the technical documentation (datasheet, technical specification, product and EPC warranties) and the cost estimation for any project in the region.
•Support Contract Manager, Legal Dept. and Sales in the definition of the scope of supply and contractual conditions (product warranty, system warranty, EPC, performance warranty, project schedule warranty) to be included in the contract.

The position will required domestic and international travels as well as frequently meeting in the Client plants/branches involved in the PV&BESS business.

Essential Skills

Skills:

• Proven expertise in grid codes, energy and power intensive BESS application, PCS and Power Management System
• Proficiency with computer programs/software (Microsoft Office)

Desirable Skills

• Minimum 8/10 year of experience in proposal engineer or sales engineers in utility scale renewable energies, EPC projects;
• Proven experience with Utilities, IPP, Developers, TSOs, DSOs, DoE, DoD;
• Proven experience to work in multinational environment

Academic or Training Requirements

Education:
• Bachelor of Engineering
• MBA (preferable)

Job Description

Negotiate utility-scale one off turn key lumpsum contract and framework agreement with IPP. Attend utility scale reverse auction bid(i.e. EFR, FFR, Capacity Market) over the area for turn key delivery of BESS or PV plant.
Run business model and drive commercial strategy through it. Support the company in selecting and partnering with different technology and suppliers.
Create, implement and drive business strategies and action plans to penetrate assigned targets, meet or exceed company goals and objectives, including sales, profitability and product portfolio management.
Assess project opportunities, implement strategies and action plans to develop and grow sales for BESS, PV and Microgrids.
Ensures company sales target achievement in the area
Ensures product pricing and margin being within company guidelines to achieve profitable sales objectives
Ensure commercial and contractual consistency with PV & BESS Global B.U.
Prepare and conduct Sales and Technical indoor and outdoor presentations

Essential Skills

Minimum 10 years’ experience in business development/sales in utility scale renewable energies projects.
Proven network and experience with Utilities, IPP, Developers, TSOs, DSOs, DoE, DoD.
Proven experience to work in multinational environment
Proven expertise in grid codes, energy and power intensive BESS application, PCS and Power Management System
